CSIR- Indian Institute of Petroleum (IIP) is a constituent laboratory of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR). Established in 1960, CSIR-IIP has a rich legacy of being a pioneer in the area of Petroleum & Hydrocarbon industry and is presently engaged in the development of sophisticated green technologies to cater to the energy needs of modern world and for reducing carbon footprint.
CSIR-IIP has developed and transferred technologies to industries in the area of petroleum refining, natural gas, petrochemicals, chemicals and utilisation of petroleum products, provided technical services and imparted world class training to the human resource of Oil and Refining industry. CSIR-IIP has strong international collaborations with industries and academia in India & abroad and has outstanding scientist in the multidisciplinary areas of R&D in the hydrocarbon and related industry. The acquirement of ISO-9001 certification by the institute in 1998 and its accreditation to ISO: 9001-2008 proves its commitment towards quality services and management.

We are looking for Scientists/Engineers having proven track record in above research areas, ability to work in teams, established professional acumen, flair for acquiring new skills, knowledge building capacity and strong interpersonal and mentoring skills.
CSIR-IIP provides career opportunities at different levels from Scientist to Senior Principal Scientist according to the eligibility criterion. The Scientists are placed in Pay Band (PB-3) or Pay Band (PB-4) and approximate monthly emoluments at minimum of Pay Band range from Rs.42,000/- to Rs.79,000/-.

All positions carry usual allowance i.e. DA, HRA and Transport Allowance etc. as admissible to Central Govt. Employees posted at Dehradun. Scientists can earn additional remuneration in form of royalty, intellectual fee, and consultancy fee without maximum ceiling.
