TECHNOLOGY: Visbreaking of Petroleum Residual Fractions (Soaker Mode)
- Fuel-oil with reduced viscosity, pour point & improved stability
- Upgrading of residual fractions
APPLICATIONS:
- The process has been developed jointly with
EIL and licensed to seven refineries in the country
with total licensed capacity of 7.2 MMTPA
TECHNOLOGY STATUS: - Soaker visbreaking requires smaller furnace
and less waste heat recovery equipment leading
to a capital saving of 10-15 percent
- Fuel consumption in case of soaker visbreaking
is approx 15 percent ower than that for coil visbreaking
- Increased cycle length
