Skills and knowledge are the driving forces for socio-economic growth of a country. With youngest and highly under skilled population (below 3%) there is urgency to harness its demographic dividend (which is predicted to last only until 2040) by overcoming skill shortages.

The skill training efforts cut across multiple sectors and require the involvement of diverse stake holders such as multiple government departments, private training providers, educational and training institutions, employers industry associations, assessment and certification bodies and trainees.

This institute as a leading constituent laboratory of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) having rich legacy of being a pioneer training provider in Hydrocarbon and allied sector (trained more than 8000 personnel from India and abroad)ushered in for various ‘Skill Development Training Programs’ as its contribution towards National Skill Development Mission.
